Description |
A two year full-time course and may also be studied on a part-time basis over a maximum period of six years. However, it is strongly recommended that there be a full-time component in each student’s course of study. It has the purpose of preparing students for gospel ministry in cross-cultural settings within Australia and overseas. It is offered through the SMBC School of Cross-Cultural Mission and its purpose is to provide students with a foundation in Bible, Church History and Theology as well as providing the opportunity to focus on Mission studies.
There is a cross-cultural fieldwork component in the course which provides students with the opportunity to experience ministry in a cultural context different to their own, either within Australia or overseas. Preparation and supervision are provided, and students prepare reflection papers and ministry reports on completion of the ministry assignment. This practical experience enables students to identify their own gifts and abilities and discover possible cross cultural ministry vocations.
It is also possible to do a 5,000-6,000 word Missions project. This provides students with the opportunity to research an area of special interest that is relevant to their future ministry and is not covered elsewhere in the course |
